What to Know

External radiation takes 15-30 minutes and the machine can be stopped at any time. For the duration, you’ll lie on a table while a linear accelerator delivers extremely precise beams of radiation. Unlike other forms of radiation treatment, you are not radioactive (and pose no risk to others) following treatment.
